when asked about diversity on the runway, designer diane von furstenberg recently told new york magazine:
"if you tell people it's cool, they'll do it. changing human behavior takes a little while ... i insist [on casting them]. it's my rule, and i always tell my casting agents. that's it! otherwise, i don't hire them. i send everybody an e-mail right before fashion week to remind them to do it."
um. ok. i swear i thought "some of my best friends are black" was coming next. i mean just how long does it take? it's only been ... what ... 100 or so years.
