i'd like mr. lenny kravitz to stop immediately. he stepped out in nyc yesterday clad in leather pants tucked into his leather knee-high wedge boots, a cowl-neck top and a man purse. i cannot.

ok where do i start? i can accept the above the knee cut off shorts. i can accept the sneaks. but whose nana got jacked for her 3rd sunday plaid blazer? that is all kinds of wrong. and he needs to stop. immediately.

if you've been hanging around this blog long enough, you know i dig personal style to the utmost. but chris breezy, this is not flyy. and if he just had to rock this tailored woman's blazer (no one can tell me this was made for a man ... not even in europe), why did he leave it buttoned up. ohhhh, i get it. so we could get the full effect.

yes, you read right. spanx for men.

and it really shouldn't come as no surprise. with the popularity of shapewear with women, there's no wonder that they'd cross gender lines. what may be more surprising is that men are buying them.

“we are selling them as quickly as spanx can make them. men may not be talking about it, but they’re buying it," said nickelson wooster, the men’s fashion director at neiman marcus.

spanx for men can also be found in bloomingdale’s, saks fifth avenue, nordstrom, and online sites like freshpair.com - a unisex underwear shop.

folks were losing their mind after they peeped pictures from kobe bryant's "high-fashion" shoot earlier this week by photographer, ruven afanador. myself included.

what the %^#@?

aside from the fact that i'm not a kobe fan, kobe's swag is a big whopping 0. he's not exactly a flyy type dude. and although i've only styled about 10 photoshoots, i probably would have went for a different look here. less willy wonka. and more ... kobe. call me a hater.

stylist, james valeri told the la times what his vision was:

"... it's mixing the the inspiration of tupac and a gentleman with a white hat ... a mix of hip hop and a conservative look."

i dare he even mention tupac's name. lol. wow.

hermes man has just opened its first men's store on madison avenue in nyc, featuring ready-to- wear and accessories exclusively for men. the flagship store which lives right across the street will no longer house any products for men. president and ceo of hermes usa tells luxist.com, "of course, our staff will accomodate any of our clients who need help. if someone needs something across the street, such as a scarf for his wife, our staff will get it for him." a scarf for his wife, huh? ok.

i'll be damned. there's a whole lotta money out there, huh? handcrafted baseball gloves for $8,500. suits for $20,700. and crocodile jackets for $129,500. and only 38% of the flagship's store were from its men's line but chavez is sure that men will travel from all over the world since it is the only men's-only hermes boutique. he adds that several of his "made-to-measure" clients have already made appointments.

the luxist.com article goes on to say that hermes clients are recession-proof (no kidding) and 2009 figures showed a 8.5% increase in revenue for the company.
